<text>Someone had three daughters. The eldest daughter, who married during the father's lifetime, received a dowry of 5,000 guilders. In his will, the father appointed his wife as the unrestricted administrator but specified that the two younger daughters should each receive 5,000 guilders upon their marriages. Unfortunately, one daughter died unmarried. The son-in-law (husband of the eldest daughter) now demanded 2,500 guilders for his wife. He argued that the 5,000 guilders intended for the deceased daughter would have already been hers upon the father's death, so they should now be divided between the surviving sisters. Juda Piza agrees with the son-in-law and further explains that the remaining 2,500 guilders (intended for the youngest daughter) should remain with the mother. (see 281).</text>
