When the wards reached adulthood, he handed them the collateral and informed them of its origins. Years later, the young adults sought to liquidate the collateral and pledged part of it to non-Jews. The former guardian reprimanded them, claiming that their actions posed a great risk to him and demanded that the collateral be deposited with the court. Abraham ben David Fidanque, however, did not recognize an obligation for this deposition. See Nr. 607.
