They regularly demanded a high sum of money from the relatives before the burial. The other members of the community objected to this and vowed solemnly (?????? ?????? ????? ?? ?????? ?????? ???? ????? ????? ??????) that they would no longer hand over their dead to the burial society but would bury them themselves. In response, the society declared that it would no longer accept money but would bury all the deceased. The new association relied on its greater numbers, as the majority of the community supported it, and on their oath (not to use the old burial society). Abraham ben David Fidanque believes it is right to dissolve the vow and reinstate the old burial society in its rights.
