<text>A promised his son B to give him 10,000 guilders on the occasion of his marriage. He paid his son two installments of 3000 guilders each and then four annual installments of 500 guilders each. Upon A's death, B demanded the rest ahead of his brother C. When B had already asserted this claim, he found a record of his father's stating that he had bought a residential property for his son B. This residential property was the one in which A had lived for some time until his death. Based on this record, B argued that the four-time payment of 500 guilders was probably intended as rent, and the house, which had just cost 4000 guilders, was intended for him as the final payment. Moses ben Samuel Israel ruled that B's arguments regarding the house should not be accepted, and he and his brother should inherit equally.</text>
